So this morning a local tree was cut down and it had 7 native stingless bee hives in it. So we rescued them and boxed them up into timber boxes for native bees. The photos show the brood and the entry hole. The bees aren’t staying still for me to get a photo with my phone.
I feel sorry for them but soon they will be safe and can rebuild their hive. They actually rebuild it pretty quickly after being transferred.
If you cut down a tree always check for the bees or other wildlife. In this one tree there was 7 native bee hives. So if you can save them it’s well worth it.
